(d) the current status of the approved projects including date of approval and expected date of

ANSWER
THE MINISTER OF MINORITY AFFAIRS
(SHRI KIREN RIJIJU)
(a) PMJVK Scheme is now applicable in all districts across the country. The States and
Union Territories (UTs) can submit infrastructure project proposals for areas where the minority
population is more than 25% within a 15 km radius.
(b) & (c) Under PMJVK the project proposals are formulated and submitted by the respective
State Governments/UT Administrations. These proposals are then examined and approved by the
Ministry. However, no project proposals have been received from the State of Andhra Pradesh in
the last five years, including the current year.
(d) Once approved, the execution, operation, and maintenance of the projects are the
responsibility of the concerned State Government or UT Administration. A district-wise list of
the approved projects in Andhra Pradesh is attached at Annexure-I.
(e) The Ministry regularly conducts review meetings with States and UTs to monitor physical
and financial progress and to address implementation issues. An evaluation study by NITI Aayog
in 2020–21 found that the PMJVK scheme has helped to reduce development gaps in minorityareas by funding infrastructure such as schools, health centres, and skill training centres. The
restructuring of the scheme in 2018-19, led to improvements, especially astronger focus
onwomen-centric projects. The study also recommended expanding the scheme's reach to cover
minority communities across the country. Accordingly, from the Financial Year 2022-23,
PMJVK is being implemented across the country as per revised guidelines under the 15th
Finance Commission period.
