(a) the number of approved National Highway projects in the last ten
years in Rajasthan and across the country including Dausa which are
currently delayed;
(b) if so, the number and status, State-wise and project-wise along with
the estimated cost thereof;
(c) the number of National Highway projects for which bids were invited
and received during the last ten years but construction is yet to begin and
the reasons therefor;
(d) whether the Government is taking any specific policy or corrective
measures to ensure timely completion, check cost escalation and
expedite the work on these delayed National Highway projects; and
(e) whether the Government is preparing any action plan to restart and
complete all pending or not yet started National Highway projects in a
timely manner in Rajasthan including Dausa, if so, the details thereof?

(a) to (b) 643 under construction National Highways (NHs) projects with a
total cost of about Rs. 4.13 lakh crore, which were sanctioned and
subsequently awarded since the Financial Year 2014-15 onwards, have
spilled beyond their original completion schedule as per contract, withoutattaining any of the various stages of project completion and excluding
projects under consideration for termination / foreclosure. State-wise
details of delayed projects are annexed.
(c) 158 NH projects with total cost of about Rs. 1.15 lakh crore have been
awarded but appointed date could not be declared pending fulfilment of
prerequisite conditions, inter-alia, availability of encumbrance free land
and clearances including forest and wildlife clearances excluding
available time period with contractor/concessionaire for achievement of
financial close and submission of bank guarantee.
(d) and (e) The Government in the Ministry of Road Transport & Highways
has taken various steps to streamline land acquisition process by
leveraging the mechanism of review and resolution of bottlenecks /
hindrances in ongoing projects, in active collaboration with the State
Governments and other stakeholders. Further, Government is making full
efforts to expedite the availability of necessary clearances / approvals and
the fulfilment of conditions precedent for new projects.ANNEXURE
