Executive Summary & Key Takeaways

The response from the Minister of Minority Affairs, Shri Kiren Rijiju, addresses Unstarred Question No. 1925 regarding the Pradhan Mantri Jan Vikas Karyakram (PMJVK) in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. PMJVK is a centrally sponsored scheme focused on creating community infrastructure in Minority Concentration Areas and is demand-driven, with projects initiated based on proposals from State Governments/UT Administrations. No project proposals were received from the State Government of Andhra Pradesh during the last three years, so no skill development centers were opened, and no beneficiaries were covered. Because PMJVK is a demand-driven scheme, there is no State/UT wise allocation of funds. Since the Government of Telangana had sufficient unutilized balance under PMJVK, no funds were released to the State during the last three years.
