ANSWER
THE MINISTER OF MINORITY AFFAIRS
(SHRI KIREN RIJIJU)
(a) & (b): Pradhan Mantri Jan Vikas Karyakram (PMJVK) is a Centrally Sponsored
Scheme and one of the flagship programmes of the Ministry of Minority Affairs. The Scheme
aims to create community infrastructure and strengthen basic civic amenities in identified
Minority Concentration Areas across the country. The projects undertaken under the Scheme
cover sectors such as education, health, skill development, women-centric facilities, drinking
water and sanitation, sports, renewable energy, and other community infrastructure.
The State-wise details of proposals received from the State Governments/Union
Territory Administrations and the projects approved under PMJVK during the last five years
are provided in Annexure-I.(c) to (f): The scheme is implemented across all districts of the country. Under the
scheme, projects can be proposed in areas having a minority population of more than 25%
within a 15 km radius, subject to the provisions of the PMJVK Guidelines. Such proposals
are recommended by the State Level Committee (SLC), chaired by the Chief Secretary of the
respective State/Union Territory, based on the demand for infrastructure development in the
eligible areas.
The scheme does not notify or maintain a district-wise list of eligible districts.
Eligibility is determined at the area level, based on the criterion of more than 25% minority
population within a 15 km radius, in accordance with the PMJVK Guidelines
During the last five years, no new project and no funds have been sanctioned for any
new projects under PMJVK in the State of Andhra Pradesh. However, an amount of Rs. 8.76
crore has been released to the State for the implementation of ongoing PMJVK projects
during the said period.
The Government of Andhra Pradesh has submitted 7 projects comprising 26 units,
with a total project cost of Rs. 101.88 crore, for consideration under the PMJVK in 2025-26.
The PMJVK scheme is however, presently approved up to 31st March 2026.
