GOVERNMENT OF INDIA MINISTRY OF HOUSING AND URBAN AFFAIRS RAJYA SABHA UNSTARRED QUESTION NO. 1820 ANSWERED ON 09/03/2026 PROJECTS APPROVAL UNDER AMRUT 2.0 IN ANDHRA PRADESH 1820. SHRI GOLLA BABURAO: Will the Minister of Housing and Urban Affairs be pleased to state: (a) aims and objectives of AMRUT 2.0; (b) whether it is a fact that 506 projects with an estimated expenditure of ₹9,500 crores have been approved under AMRUT 2.0 for the State of Andhra Pradesh; (c) whether it is also a fact that only 240 projects have been awarded; (d) if so, the details thereof, district-wise; (e) the status of each of the above project and reasons for delayed physical completion; (f) the amount, out of the total amount of ₹9,500 that has been spent so far; and (g) by when all the projects are going to be completed? ANSWER THE MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF HOUSING AND URBAN AFFAIRS (SHRI TOKHAN SAHU) (a) to (g): Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation 2.0 (AMRUT 2.0) has been launched on 01 October 2021 in all Urban Local Bodies (ULBs)/ cities, enabling the cities to become 'self-reliant' and 'water secure'. Providing universal coverage of sewerage & septage management in 500 AMRUT cities is one of the major focus areas of AMRUT 2.0. Rejuvenation of water bodies, development of green spaces and parks are other components of the Mission. Under AMRUT 2.0, States/UTs are empowered to select, appraise, prioritise and implement the projects within the broad framework of Mission guidelines. The revised State Water Action Plans (SWAPs) of Andhra Pradesh comprising of 505 projects worth ₹9,505.91 crore have been approved under AMRUT 2.0. The State has informed that 501 projects have been awarded and total expenditure of ₹601.78 crore has been incurred so far. The status of approved projects under AMRUT 2.0 in Andhra Pradesh including date of completion, as informed by the State, is available on the website https://amrut.mohua.gov.in/. The State has also informed that delay in some of the projects occurred due to change in scope of the projects. *****
