Parliament Question: Projects for Haryana under SCM and AMRUT

GOVERNMENT OF INDIA MINISTRY OF HOUSING AND URBAN AFFAIRS RAJYA SABHA UNSTARRED QUESTION NO. 4048 ANSWERED ON 30/03/2026 PROJECTS FOR HARYANA UNDER SCM AND AMRUT 4048. SMT. REKHA SHARMA: Will the Minister of Housing and Urban Affairs be pleased to state: (a) the details of projects sanctioned for Haryana under Smart Cities Mission (SCM) and AMRUT; (b) the details of implementation status thereof; and (c) whether additional infrastructure and mobility projects are being considered? ANSWER THE MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF HOUSING AND URBAN AFFAIRS (SHRI TOKHAN SAHU) (a) to (c): Under Smart Cities Mission (SCM), 2 cities, viz. Faridabad and Karnal were selected in the State of Haryana. As reported by the State as on 01.03.2026, a total 161 projects amounting to ₹2,136 Cr were taken up under various sectors since inception of the mission, out of which 140 projects (87% of total projects undertaken) worth ₹1,564 Cr have been completed and 21 projects amounting to ₹572 Cr are at implementation stage. These projects include 40 water supply projects worth ₹770.19 Cr, 44 sewerage/septage management projects worth ₹1,655.23 Cr, 19 drainage projects worth ₹452.37 Cr and 33 green spaces & park projects worth ₹42.2 Cr. Under AMRUT 2.0, launched in the year 2021 in all Urban Local Bodies (ULBs)/ cities, the State Water Action Plans (SWAPs) of Haryana comprising of 77 projects worth ₹3,823.54 Cr have been approved which include 61 water supply projects worth ₹2,470.3 Cr and 16 sewerage/septage management projects worth ₹1,353.24 Cr. As reported by the State on AMRUT 2.0 portal, contracts have been awarded for 72 projects worth ₹2,087.60 Cr (capex cost) of which works worth ₹797.71 Cr have been physically completed so far. *****
