SKILL AND LIVELIHOOD PROGRAMMES FOR MINORITIES IN TELANGANA
2993. SHRI ARVIND DHARMAPURI:
Will the Minister of MINORITY AFFAIRS be pleased to state:
(a) the details of the number of beneficiaries trained and placed under minority livelihood and
skill programmes, State-wise including Telangana along with the placement rate and average
earnings achieved;
(b) whether long-term tracking exists for job retention compared with earlier years and if so,
the details thereof; and
(c) the steps taken by the Government to expand market-linked skilling and credit support for
minority youth in Telangana?

(a): The Ministry of Minority Affairs implements Pradhan Mantri Virasat Ka Samvardhan
(PM VIKAS) Scheme as a Central Sector scheme which converges five erstwhile schemes
viz. ‘Seekho Aur Kamao’, ‘Nai Manzil’, ‘Nai Roshni’ ‘USTTAD’ and ‘Hamari Dharohar’;
and focuses on socio-economic empowerment of six notified minorities through skill
development; entrepreneurship and leadership development of minority women; and
education support for school dropouts. The schemes were implemented across the country,
including the state of Telangana, a state-wise breakup of beneficiaries trained and placed in
the schemes is placed at Annexure I.
(b) and (c): Under the ongoing PM VIKAS Scheme, the scheme guidelines mandate
implementing partners to ensure placement of 75 per cent of total candidates trained under
NSQF aligned skill programs. Further, the Project Implementing Agencies are mandated to
conduct Post Placement tracking of beneficiaries for at least 3 months after completion of
training. The scheme implementation has only commenced during the ongoing financial year.
The scheme also provisions to facilitate credit linkages by connecting beneficiaries
with schemes offered by the National Minorities Development & Finance Corporation
(NMDFC).
