5053. SHRI MUHAMMED HAMDULLAH SAYEED:
Will the Minister of YOUTH AFFAIRS AND SPORTS be pleased to state:
(a) whether the Government is aware of the present condition of the stadium ground in Minicoy Island;
(b) whether any proposal has been received from the Administration of Lakshadweep for improvement and upgradation of the said stadium ground and if so, the details thereof;
(c) whether the Government proposes to provide financial assistance under any Central Scheme for development of sports infrastructure on the island;
(d) if so, the details thereof, including the nature of facilities proposed to be developed, such as turf improvement, seating arrangements, lighting and other basic amenities along with the timeline for implementation;
and
(e) if not, the reasons therefor? ANSWER THE MINISTER OF YOUTH AFFAIRS & SPORTS [ DR. MANSUKH MANDAVIYA ]
(a) to (e) โSportsโ being a State subject, the responsibility of development of sports, including improvement and upgradation of stadium grounds, providing financial assistance for development of sports infrastructure, rests primarily with the State/Union Territory Governments. The Union Government supplements their efforts by bridging critical gaps. The details of various sports infrastructure across the country, which are Page 1 of 2under the jurisdiction of respective State/Union Territory Governments, are not maintained in this Ministry.
Receipt of proposals under the schemes of this Ministry is a continual process. The proposals received from the State/UT Governments and other eligible entities are considered for financial support, subject to their completeness, technical feasibility, and availability of funds under the Scheme.
The details of the sports infrastructure projects approved and funds released and their physical and financial progress, under Khelo India Scheme and National Sports Development Fund (NSDF), across the country, are available in public domain on the dashboards of the Ministry

The details of sports facilities under Khelo India Scheme, viz. Khelo India Centres, Khelo India State Centres of Excellence and Khelo India Accredited Academies, along with details of disciplines covered and athlete count, are available at https://dashboard.kheloindia.gov.in.
Further, the details of various sports facilities run by SAI, such as National Centres of Excellence (NCoE), Sports Training Centres (STC), Extension Centres of STCs, along with details of disciplines covered and athlete count, are available at https://sportsauthorityofindia.nic.in.
