SHRI RICHARD VANLALHMANGAIHA: Will the Minister of ROAD TRANSPORT AND HIGHWAYS सड़क परिवहन औि िाजमार्ग मंत्री be pleased to state: (a) whether the Government is aware of the preparation of a Detailed Project Report (DPR) for the 2-lane road with paved shoulder from Tuivai Bridge on National Highway (NH)-102B to Parva-I/Parva-II via Mimbung – Ngopa – Hnahlan – Zokhawthar – Vaphai – Farkawn – Thekpui – Lungkawlh – Thingsai - S. Vanlaiphai – Lungzarhtum – Chhuarlung – Chakhang – Chheihlu – Zawngling – Khopai – Longmasu - Vathuampui in the State of Mizoram; (b) whether the Government proposes to declare the said road stretch as a National Highway, considering its strategic, economic and regional connectivity importance, particularly in the eastern part of Mizoram and near the international border, (c) if so, the details and present status thereof and if not, the reasons therefor, and (d) the steps taken or proposed to be taken by the Government for upgradation and inclusion of the said road under the National Highway network? ANSWER THE MINISTER OF ROAD TRANSPORT AND HIGHWAYS (SHRI NITIN JAIRAM GADKARI)(a) Detailed Project Report (DPR) for development of the road from Tuivai Bridge on NH-102B to Parva-I in the State of Mizoram has been taken up by National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (NHIDCL). (b) to (d) The 28 km Zorinpui–Longmasu stretch of this corridor has been declared as NH-502A. Further, proposals for declaration or upgradation of State roads as National Highways are received from various State Governments and UTs, including the State of Mizoram. Such proposals are considered from time to time based on connectivity requirements, traffic density and synergy with the PM Gati Shakti National Master Plan. *****
