Will the Minister of YOUTH AFFAIRS AND SPORTS be pleased to state:
(a) the details of the total number of Talent Assessment Centres
sanctioned and operational in the country, State/UT-wise including
district-wise for Andhra Pradesh;
(b) the details of the funds allocated and released for establishing such
centres, State/UT-wise including district-wise for Andhra Pradesh;
(c) the total number of assessments conducted by such centres, year
and State/UT-wise and district-wise for Andhra Pradesh;
(d) the number of centres having modern Information and
Communication Technology (ICT) tools and upgraded technology,
State/UT-wise and district-wise for Andhra Pradesh; and
(e) whether there are any pending proposals with the Government to
establish new Talent Assessment Centres in Andhra Pradesh and if so,
the details thereof?

REGARDING “TALENT ASSESSMENT CENTRES” ASKED BY SHRI
BASTIPATI NAGARAJU HON’BLE MEMBER OF LOK SABHA.
(a) to (e): Various facilities under the Khelo India Scheme function as
Talent Assessment Centres across the country. The details are as
follows:
(i) Khelo India Centres (KICs): A total of 1,067 Khelo India Centres
have been established at the district level across the country
including the state of Andhra Pradesh. These Centres are provided
with coaches and sports equipment and facilitate periodic talent
assessment and training at the district level. The details are
placed at Annexure-I.
(ii) Khelo India State Centres of Excellence (KISCEs): Thirty-five (35)
Khelo India State Centres of Excellence have been established in
34 States/Union Territories. These Centres are equipped with
sports science facilities and sports science manpower and
function as Talent Assessment and Performance Monitoring
Centres at the State level. The details are placed at Annexure-II.
(iii) The number of assessment camps varies depending on the nature
of the sport; hence, assessments are conducted sport-wise and
not State-wise. The details are placed at Annexure-III.
(iv) The details of funds allocated for such centres, State/UT wise
including Andhra Pradesh is placed at Annexure-IV.
Further, periodic talent assessment is also conducted at various Sports
Authority of India facilities, including Sports Training Centres (STCs)
and National Centres of Excellence (NCOEs).
All assessment centres are equipped with modern sports science
facilities for conducting such assessments.
