SAIL has completed all necessary formalities for title transfer. As per the MoUs, the local authority/State Government is responsible for providing basic civic amenities like roads, drinking water, electricity, and community toilets within the BSP jurisdiction, including Nevai Basti, Maroda, Tehsil, and District Durg.

TRANSFER OF BSP LAND TO STATE GOVERNMENT
1755. SHRI VIJAY BAGHEL:
Will the Minister of STEEL be pleased to state:
(a) whether there is any urgent need to provide basic amenities to the densely
populated labour colony like Nevai Basti, Maroda, Tehsil and District Durg
(Chhattisgarh) under the Bhilai Steel Plant (BSP) jurisdiction where population has
increased at a very fast pace;
(b) whether it is essential that the BSP land be transferred to the State Government
through the SAIL Board, as in absence of it, the general public is not able to avail the
benefits of the ambitious schemes like lease distribution, Prime Minister Housing and
basic amenities of life, etc.; and
(c) the status of transfer of land of the densely populated colonies like Nevai Basti,
Maroda etc. to the Municipal Corporation Risali of Chhattisgarh Government at the
level of SAIL Board and Government-Administration along with the details thereof?

(a)to(c): Steel Authority of India Limited/Bhilai Steel Plant (SAIL/BSP) has handed
over land parcel comprising 290.26 acres of land (located at Village Ruabandha,
Maroda, Joratarai, Purena, Chhaoni and Khursipara) and 151.46 acres of land at
village Newai (Mouhari Baghicha, Station Maroda, Newai (HSCL Colony), Newai Old
Basti and Newai Bhata) land parcel to State Government of Chhattisgarh. All
necessary formalities have been completed by SAIL towards title transfer of above-
mentioned land to State Government.
As per the MoUs signed between SAIL/BSP and State Government of
Chhattisgarh, the basic civic amenities like roads, drinking water, electricity and
community toilets under the Bhilai Steel Plant (BSP) jurisdiction including Nevai Basti,
Maroda, Tehsil and District Durg are to be provided by the local authority/State
Government.
