GOVERNMENT OF INDIA MINISTRY OF ROAD TRANSPORT AND HIGHWAYS LOK SABHA UNSTARRED QUESTION NO. 6336 ANSWERED ON 2ND APRIL, 2026 UPGRADATION OF NH-183 FROM KADAVOOR-ANJILIMOODU STRETCH IN KERALA 6336. SHRI KODIKUNNIL SURESH Will the Minister of ROAD TRANSPORT AND HIGHWAYS सड़क परिवहन औि िाजमार्ग मत्रं ी be pleased to state: (a) whether the Government has approved proposals for the development, widening or upgradation of the stretch of NH-183 from Kadavoor to Anjilimoodu passing through districts including Kollam and Alappuzha; (b) if so, the details of the financial sanctions granted, including year- wise allocations and the estimated project cost; (c) the present status of the project including stages such as survey, Detailed Project Report, land acquisition, tendering and construction; (d) whether the Government will provide the official alignment plan and details of the approved route alignment for the said stretch of NH- 183; (e) whether any proposals for realignment, bypasses or additional connectivity improvements have been received from the State Government or local authorities and if so, the details thereof; and(f) the timeline for commencement and completion of the project and the steps taken to expedite the development of this stretch of NH- 183? ANSWER THE MINISTER OF ROAD TRANSPORT AND HIGHWAYS (SHRI NITIN JAIRAM GADKARI) (a) to (f) A proposal for widening to a 4-lane configuration for the section from Kollam Bypass Junction (Km 4/200) to Anjilimoodu (Km 58/570) of NH-183 in the State of Kerala has been considered and the project is now planned with a 4-lane configuration within an effective Right of Way (ROW) of about 20 metres so as to minimise demolition of large numbers of structures. Contribution of the State Government is being sought in terms of utility shifting costs, including land acquisition for the utility corridor or reimbursement of State component of Goods and Services Tax, whichever is preferable for the State Government. Land acquisition for the project has been initiated. Further action, including consideration of sanction, tendering and construction, will be taken as per extant procedures, subject to availability of land, utility shifting and requisite statutory clearances. *****
