SHRI E TUKARAM: Will the Minister of ROAD TRANSPORT AND HIGHWAYS सड़क परिवहन औि िाजमार् ग मंत्री be pleased to state: (a) the present status of the proposal for upgradation of State Highway-25 connecting Mariyammanahally (NH-50) to Shivamogga (NH-69) to the status of a National Highway including the details of any surveys, feasibility studies undertaken in this regard; (b) whether any funds have been allocated or sanctioned for this upgradation project and if so, the quantum of funds along with their utilization status; and (c ) the time frame envisaged for completing the approval process including environmental and technical clearances and for initiating and completing the upgradation work? ANSWER THE MINISTER OF ROAD TRANSPORT AND HIGHWAYS (SHRI NITIN JAIRAM GADKARI) (a) to (c) Government in the Ministry of Road Transport & Highways is primarily responsible for development and maintenance of National Highways (NHs). State Highway (SH) – 25 is a State road and development of State roads is the responsibility of the respective State Government. Government keeps on receiving proposals from various State Governments/UTs, etc., including from the State Government of Karnataka for declaration / up- gradation of State roads as NHs.
