GOVERNMENT OF INDIA MINISTRY OF TRIBAL AFFAIRS LOK SABHA UNSTARRED QUESTION NO-3280 TO BE ANSWERED ON-12/03/2026 Welfare Schemes under Article 275(1) of the Constitution 3280. Shri Vijay Baghel: Will the Minister of TRIBAL AFFAIRS be pleased to state: (a) the policy of the Union Government under Article 275(1) of the Constitution for the welfare of the primitive castes (Scheduled Tribes) and development of infrastructure in tribal areas; (b) the allocation made to Chhattisgarh under the said scheme during the last three years, district-wise; and (c) the details of the funds released, work-wise for Durg and Bemetara districts under the Durg Lok Sabha Constituency during the last three years? ANSWER MINISTER OF STATE FOR TRIBAL AFFAIRS (SHRI DURGADAS UIKEY) (a) Grants-in-aid under Proviso to Article 275(1) of Constitution of India are 100% annual grant from Government of India to 26 States. It is provided to State Governments with notified Scheduled Tribes (STs) based upon proposals received from the State Government duly approved by Executive Committee of the State (headed by Chief Secretary) and after appraisal and approval thereof by a Project Appraisal Committee (PAC) constituted in this Ministry for this purpose. Funding under this programme is to enable the State to meet the cost of such schemes of development as may be undertaken by the State for the purpose of promoting the welfare of STs in that State. (b) Under the scheme, Only State wise allocation is made. District wise allocation isnot made under the scheme. The allocation made to the State of Chhattisgarh under the said scheme during the last three years is given below:- Financial Allocation to Chhattisgarh under Article Year 275(1) Grants (Rs. in Lakh) 2022-23 13853.43 2023-24 16195.69 2024-25 17290.23 (c) The work wise details of the funds approved by PAC during the last three years for Durg and Bemetara districts under the Durg Lok Sabha Constituency is as follows:Project Fund approve/ Approved by Sl.
