And whereas, In exercise of the powers conferred by Para (ii) of clause (b) under sub-section(4) of section 4 of the Aadhaar (Targeted delivery of financial and other subsidies, Benefits and Services) Act 2016 (as amended) (here in referred to as “ act”) read with Rule 5 of the Aadhaar Authentication for Good Governance (Social, Welfare, Innovation, Knowledge) Rules, 2020,Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) and Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, Government of India have authorised Atal Innovation Mission , NITI Aayog, Government of India to use Aadhar authentication of its Kashi (Cash over Internet) programme on voluntary basis. And whereas, UIDAI and Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, Government of India have authorized the authentication of Aadhaarfor the following purposes: i. Digital on-boarding of customer involving authenticating user of Aadhaar and OTP combination ii. Aadhaar number will act as unique identifier for DBT (Direct Benefit Transfer) transaction for credit eligibility calculations. And whereas, Kashi (Cash over Internet) is an end-to-end digital platform offering credit solutions that can be used towards working capital for self employed or for consumption / urgent needs of agricultural workers or low income groups who are otherwise entitled to the “Direct Benefit Transfer” (DBT) which is a Program by Government of India to change the mechanism of transferring subsidies from various welfare schemes directly to the eligible people through their bank accounts.
