Statute 2(4) – (amended)
The Vice Chancellor shall hold office for a term of five years from the date on which he enters upon his office or until he

Statute 11(1) Constitution and term of office of the Executive Council - (amended)
Executive Council shall consist of the following and the Members shall hold office for term of three years, except
otherwise provided.
i.(cid:32) Vice Chancellor
ii.(cid:32) Pro Vice Chancellor
iii.(cid:32) A Central University Vice Chancellor or a serving University Professor of Eminence, nominated by the
Executive Council on the recommendation of the Vice Chancellor
iv.(cid:32) Dean of Students’ Welfare
v.(cid:32) Five Deans of Schools of Studies of whom not more than three shall be from each of the groups specified below
by rotation according to seniority;

Faculty of Social Sciences, Management and Humanities
Group-II

xv.(cid:32) Two Members of the Court, when constituted, elected from amongst the elected members, none
of whom shall be an employee or student of the University or an institution recognized by or
associated with the University.
xvi.(cid:32) Two students’ representatives, to be nominated by the Vice Chancellor on merit basis, from
members of the Student Council of University, on rotation basis. Such members hall not have
the right to be present at the meeting of the Academic Council when it takes up for
consideration any of the following subjects:
(a)(cid:32) Faculty positions, recruitment, conditions of service and academic freedom;
(b)(cid:32) Actual processes of evaluating academic performance and merit of students.
xvii.(cid:32) The following representatives:
(cid:183) (cid:32) One of Scheduled Castes
(cid:183) (cid:32) One of Scheduled Tribe
(cid:183) (cid:32) One of Other Backward Classes
(cid:183) (cid:32) One of Minorities
(cid:183) (cid:32) One of Women; and
(cid:183) (cid:32) One of the Differently Abled
shall be nominated by the Vice Chancellor as members from the teachers of the University or
other Central/State Universities,

13(2) Fifty percent of the Members of the Academic Council, including at-least two outside members, not belonging to the
University shall form a quorum for a meeting of the Academic Council.
