1. (1) इन धनयमों का नाम धसख गुरुद्वारा बोर्ड धनर्ाडचन (संशोिन) धनयम, 2017 ह ै।
(2) य ेराजपत्र में प्रकाशन की तारीख को प्रर्ृत्त होंग े।
2. धसख गुरुद्वारा बोर्ड धनर्ाडचन धनयम, 1959 में,-
(i) धनयम 3 के उपधनयम (1) के परंतुक म ें “प्ररूप 1 या प्ररूप 1क, जैसा दक समुधचत हो”, शब्ि, अंक और अक्षर के
स्र्ान पर “प्ररूप 1” शब्ि और अंक रखे जाएगं े :
(ii) प्ररूप 1, के स्र्ान पर धनम्नधलधखत प्ररूप रखा जाएगा, अर्ाडत् :-

New Delhi, the 8th August, 2017
G.S.R.1005 (E).— In exercise of the powers conferred by section 146 of the Sikh Gurdwaras Act, 1925
(Punjab Act 8 of 1925), the Central Government hereby makes the following rules further to amend the Sikh Gurdwaras
Board Election Rules, 1959, namely:—
1. (1) These rules may be called the Sikh Gurdwaras Board Election (Amendment) Rules, 2017.
(2) They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette.
2. In the Sikh Gurdwaras Board Election Rules, 1959, -
(i) in the proviso to sub-rule (1) of rule 3 for the words, figures and letter “Form I or Form I A, as may
be appropriate,” the word and figure “Form I” shall be substituted:
(ii) For Form I, the following Form shall be substituted, namely :-

hereby declare that:-
(a) I am a Sikh;
(b) I do not trim or shave my beard or keshas;

(d) I do not take alcoholic drinks; and
(e) I am not a patit*:

* patit means a person who being Keshdhari Sikh trims or shaves his beard or keshas or who after taking
Amrit commits any one or more of the four Kurahits.
**in case of an illiterate he should repeat the declaration, as read out from the Form, and then thumb mark
the Form.
