NOTIFICATION
New Delhi the 3rd December, 2018
G.S.R.1158(E).—In exercise of the powers conferred by section 18 of the Citizenship Act, 1955 (57 of 1955),
the Central Government hereby makes the following rules further to amend the Citizenship Rules, 2009, namely :-
1. (1) These rules may be called the Citizenship (Second) Amendment Rules, 2018.
(2) They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette.
2. In the Citizenship Rules, 2009, in the Schedule I,─
(a) in Form II, in Part I, for serial number 6A and the entry relating thereto, the following shall be
substituted, namely:-¹Hkkx IIµ[k.M 3(i)º Hkkjr dk jkti=k % vlk/kj.k 3
“6A. Do you belong to one of the minority communities from Afghanistan, Bangladesh and
Pakistan, namely, Hindus, Sikhs, Buddhists, Jains, Parsis and Christians?
Yes/ No
If, yes, please specify ……………………..”;
(b) in Form III, in Part I, for serial number 8A and the entry relating thereto, the following shall be
substituted, namely:-
“8A. Do you belong to one of the minority communities from Afghanistan, Bangladesh and
Pakistan, namely, Hindus, Sikhs, Buddhists, Jains, Parsis and Christians?
Yes/ No
If, yes, please specify ……………………..”;
(c) in Form IV, in Part I, for serial number 8A and the entries relating thereto, the following shall be
substituted, namely:-
“8A. Do you belong to one of the minority communities from Afghanistan, Bangladesh and
Pakistan, namely, Hindus, Sikhs, Buddhists, Jains, Parsis and Christians?
Yes/ No
If, yes, please specify ……………………..”;
(d) in Form V, in Part I, for serial number 5A and the entries relating thereto, the following shall be
substituted, namely:-

Pakistan, namely, Hindus, Sikhs, Buddhists, Jains, Parsis and Christians?
Yes/ No
If, yes, please specify ……………………..”;
(e) in Form VI, in Part I, for serial number 7A and the entry relating thereto, the following shall be
substituted, namely:-
“7A. Do you belong to one of the minority communities from Afghanistan, Bangladesh and
Pakistan, namely, Hindus, Sikhs, Buddhists, Jains, Parsis and Christians?
Yes/ No
If, yes, please specify ……………………..”;
(f) in Form VII, in Part I, after serial number 7 and the entries relating thereto, the following serial
number shall be inserted, namely:-
“7A. Do you belong to one of the minority communities from Afghanistan, Bangladesh and Pakistan,
namely, Hindus, Sikhs, Buddhists, Jains, Parsis and Christians?

(g) in Form VIII, in Part I, after serial number 3 and the entries relating thereto, the following serial
number shall be inserted, namely:-
