NOTIFICATION
New Delhi, the 23rd November, 2016
No. A-10/178/2012-PPC. –In exercise of the powers conferred by section 33 read with
sub-section (5) of section 11 of the Prasar Bharati (Broadcasting Corporation of India) Act, 1990 (25 of 1990)
(hereinafter referred to as the “Act”), the Prasar Bharati (Broadcasting Corporation of India) makes the
following regulations, namely:-
1. Short title and commencement.–(1) These regulations may be called the Prasar Bharati
(Broadcasting Corporation of India) Conditions of Service and Authorities for Disciplinary Proceedings
Regulations, 2016.
(2) They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette.
2. Applicability.–(1) These Rules shall apply to all employees recruited by Prasar Bharati after
5th October, 2007.
(2) The incumbents appointed to various posts on regular basis in Prasar Bharati before the
commencements of these Rules and after 5th day of October, 2007 shall be deemed to be covered by these
Rules.
3. Service Conditions.–The rules and regulations governing the service conditions of Government
servants of the corresponding grades including Central Civil Services (Conduct) Rules, 1964 and Central Civil
Services (Classification, Control and Appeal) Rules, 1965 shall, mutatis mutandis, be applicable to the
employees referred to in Regulation (2) above.
4. Authorities for disciplinary proceedings.– The Disciplinary Authority specified in column (3) of the
table given below, the Appellate Authority specified in the corresponding entry in column (4) of the said table,
and the Reviewing Authority specified in the corresponding entry in column (5) thereof shall be the
authorities for exercising their respective powers under the Central Civil Services (Classification, Control and
Appeal) Rules, 1965 in respect of the classification of posts specified against the corresponding entries under
column (2) of the said table.
