Transfer on Deputation – The term ‘deputation’ shall normally cover appointments made by transfer on a temporary basis from other departments of the Central/State Governments, Statutory or Autonomous Bodies/Public Sector Undertakings. However, departmental officers may be considered for appointment on deputation to the posts which are not in their line of promotion, provided they fulfill eligibility criteria prescribed for the post.
