Special Judge for ACB Cases Visakhapatnam Judgment, Dated: 06.07.2011 in C.C.No. 45 of 2006. >><< O R D E R: Whereas, Sri N. Shankar Babu, Assistant Engineer, Panchayat Raj, Pendurthi, Visakhapatnam has been convicted and sentenced to undergo simple imprisonment for a period of one year and also to pay a fine of Rs.3,000/- in default to suffer simple imprisonment for a period of 4 months for the offence under section 7 of Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988. He is further sentenced to undergo simple imprisonment for a period of one year and to pay a fine of Rs.3000/- in default to suffer simple imprisonment for a period of 4 months for the offences under section 13(2) read with section 13(1) (d) of the Prevention of Corruption Act by the court of Special Judge for ACB cases, Visakhapatnam in C.C.No.45/2006 dated.06.07.2011. Both the sentences shall run concurrently. 2. And whereas, it is considered that the conduct of Sri N. Shankar Babu, formerly Assistant Engineer, Panchayat Raj, Pendurthi, Visakhapatnam District, which has led to his conviction is such as to render his further retention in the public service is undesirable. 3. And whereas, Government after careful consideration of the matter, have decided to impose a major penalty of dismissal from Government service on Sri N. Shankar Babu, formerly Assistant Engineer, Panchayat Raj, Pendurthi, Visakhapatnam District. 4. Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by clause (x) of Rule 9 read with sub-rule (1) of Rule 25 of the Andhra Pradesh Civil Services (Classification, Control and Appeal) Rules, 1991, Government hereby dismiss Sri N. Shankar Babu, formerly Assistant Engineer, Panchayat Raj, Pendurthi, Visakhapatnam District, from Government service with immediate effect. (P.T.O) ::2::5.
