Ministry of Home Affairs NDRF Academy Organises Environment Awareness Programme on World Environment Day प्रव तथ: 05 JUN 2026 8:19PM by PIB Mumbai Nagpur, 5 June 2026 On the occasion of World Environment Day, the NDRF Academy, Suradevi, (Nagpur) organized a series of activities on 05 June 2026, reaffirming its commitment towards environmental conservation and sustainable development. The programme was led by Brigadier R. Sathya Narayanan, Director, NDRF Academy, and witnessed enthusiastic participation from officers, staff, trainees and their family members. The highlight of the event was an inspiring address delivered by Ms. Neha Vyas, Senior Environment Specialist, World Bank. In her address, she emphasized the importance of sustainable environmental practices, climate resilience and active community participation in the conservation of natural resources. As part of the programme, a tree plantation drive and various awareness activities were organised to promote environmental conservation and encourage a greener lifestyle. To support a plastic-free way of life and spread awareness on environmental protection, jute bags were distributed among participating families.Addressing the gathering, Brigadier R. Sathya Narayanan highlighted the importance of environmental conservation in disaster risk reduction and sustainable development. He also reaffirmed the Academy’s commitment towards promoting environmental responsibility among officers, staff and trainees.
