SHRI AZAD KIRTI JHA: Will the Minister of STATISTICS AND PROGRAMME IMPLEMENTATION be pleased to State: (a) the detailed share of the manufacturing sector in Gross Value Added (GVA) at basic prices from 2020-21 to 2026-27, year-wise; (b) the growth rate of manufacturing GVA during the said period and the compounded annual growth rate (CAGR) for 2020-21 to 2026-27 respectively, year-wise; (c) whether the available data indicates any significant change in the share of manufacturing in total GVA during the said period and if so, the details thereof; and (d) whether any assessment has been undertaken to examine structural constraints affecting the growth of the manufacturing sector and its capacity to generate broad-based employment and if so, the details thereof? ANSWER MINISTER OF STATE (INDEPENDENT CHARGE) OF THE MINISTRY OF STATISTICS AND PROGRAMME IMPLEMENTATION; MINISTER OF STATE (INDEPENDENT CHARGE) OF THE MINISTRY OF PLANNING AND MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF CULTURE (RAO INDERJIT SINGH) (a) to (c): The Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation (MoSPI) has revised the base year of the National Accounts Statistics from 2011–12 to 2022–23, and the revised serieswas released in February 2026. As per the revised series (2022–23 base), the contribution of the Manufacturing sector to India's Gross Value Added (GVA) at current prices and the growth rate of Manufacturing GVA at constant prices during the period 2022–23 to 2025–26 are given below: Indicator 2022-23 2023-24 2024-25 (FRE) 2025-26 (PE) Share of Manufacturing 14.7 14.7 14.5 14.8 in total GVA (in %) Change over previous - (+)12.7 (+)9.3 (+)10.7 year (in %) Note: FRE-First Revised Estimates, PE- Provisional Estimates Source: Press Release of Provisional Estimates of GDP dated 05.06.2026 The compounded annual growth rate (CAGR) of Manufacturing GVA at constant prices (2022-23 base) as per the revised series during 2022- 23 to 2025-26 is 10.88%. The available data under the respective series do not indicate any significant change in the share of manufacturing in total Gross Value Added (GVA). (d): The Government has undertaken several structural reforms and initiatives to strengthen the resilience of the manufacturing sector and reduce its vulnerability to external shocks. These include, inter-alia, the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) Schemes, PM GatiShakti National Master Plan, the National Logistics Policy, Bharat Audyogik Vikas Yojana (BHAVYA), initiatives to promote semiconductor and electronics manufacturing, critical minerals and Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), and the Scheme for Promotion of Surface Coal/Lignite Gasification Projects, improvement of the ease of doing business, National Industrial Corridor Development Programme (NICDP). Collectively, these initiatives seek to strengthen domestic manufacturing, diversify supply chains, reduce import dependence in strategic sectors, enhance energy security and improve the resilience and competitiveness of India's manufacturing ecosystem. *****
