SHRI MADDILA GURUMOORTHY: Will the Minister of MICRO, SMALL AND MEDIUM ENTERPRISES be pleased to state: (a) whether it is a fact that there is currently no animal feed manufacturing unit in the Tirupati district, leading to increased input costs and logistical challenges for livestock farmers, if so, the details thereof; (b) whether the Government has any proposal to establish feed manufacturing units in Tirupati district under Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) or any other central schemes, if so, the details thereof; (c) if so, the details of the proposed initiative, including budget, timeline and implementation agency; and (d) if not, the reasons for not considering Tirupati district despite its high livestock dependency and the demand for feed infrastructure? The details of these MSME Units registered under UDYAM registration portal of this Ministry is as under: NIC No. Units Registered in DESCRIPTION CODE Tirupati District 10801 Manufacture of Cattle Feed 23 10802 Manufacture of Poultry Feed 22 Manufacture of prepared feed for pets including 13 10803 dogs, cats, birds, fish etc. 10809 Manufacture of other Animal Feeds n.e.c 24 (b) to (d): The Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise (MSME) sector is a vibrant sector of the economy. The Government of India supplements the efforts of the States/UTs through various schemes, programmes and policy initiatives for promotion and development of MSMEs in the country including Tirupati District. Further, under the Prime Minister's Employment Generation Program (PMEGP) Scheme of this Ministry, one cattle feed Manufacturing unit was established at Bakarapet, Tirupati. The PMEGP is a central sector scheme being administered by the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises. The scheme is being implemented by Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC).
