2537. SHRI MUHAMMED HAMDULLAH SAYEED:
Will the Minister of HOME AFFAIRS be pleased to state:
(a) whether the Government is aware that several cases of compassionate
appointments in the Union Territory of Lakshadweep have been pending
since 2018;
(b) if so, the number of such pending cases and the reasons for the
inordinate delay in processing and approving these appointments;
(c) whether the delay has caused undue hardship to the families of
deceased government employees who are awaiting employment on
compassionate grounds;
(d) whether the Government proposes to take immediate steps to expedite
the processing of these cases and ensure timely appointments; and
(e) if so, the details thereof and the timeline by which the pending cases
are expected to be resolved?
