Parliament Question: Enforcement of TGANB

SHRI CHAMALA KIRAN KUMAR REDDY: SHRI EATALA RAJENDER: Will the Minister of HOME AFFAIRS be pleased to state: (a) whether the Government of Telangana has established Two State Level Enforcement organizations namely Telangana Anti Narcotics Bureau (TGANB) and also Telangana Cyber Security Bureau (TGCSB) in the State to tackle the growing menace of Narcotics abuse and Cyber Crime; (b) whether the Government of Telangana has requested the Union Government to provide Additional Financial Assistance for Strengthening Telangana Anti Narcotics Bureau (TGANB) and also Telangana Cyber Security Bureau (TGCSB); and (c) if so, the details thereof and the time by when, assistance will be released to the State? ANSWER MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF HOME AFFAIRS (SHRI NITYANAND RAI) (a) Government of Telangana has established Telangana Anti Narcotics Bureau (TGANB) to combat drug trafficking comprehensively including cultivation, production, transportation, smuggling, sale, purchase, possession and consumption of psychotropic substances, drugs and narcotics in the state of Telangana. Presently, nomenclature of TGANB has-2- L.S.US.Q.NO. 2572 FOR 04.08.2026 been changed to EAGLE Force (Elite Action Group For Drug Law Enforcement). Government of Telangana has also established Telangana Cyber Security Bureau (TGCSB) with a mission to combat cybercrimes and ensure the safety and security of Telangana’s digital landscape. (b) & (c) In the financial year 2025-26, against the proposal of around Rs.178 Crores for Strengthening Telangana Anti Narcotics Bureau (TGANB) and Telangana Cyber Security Bureau (TGCSB) for Telangana State, approval has been granted for Rs. 86.09 crore for the admissible components under the 'Assistance to States and UTs for Modernisation of Police (ASUMP)' scheme to the State of Telangana as under: - (Rs. in crores) No. The component of the proposal Proposed Approved 1.
