ESTABLISHMENT OF HOSIERY CLUSTER IN SIRSA, HARYANA
2264. KUMARI SELJA:
Will the Minister of MICRO, SMALL AND MEDIUM ENTERPRISES be pleased to state:
(a) whether the Government has proposed or approved any project for establishment of a
Hosiery Cluster in Sirsa district of Haryana;
(b) if so, the details and current status thereof, including funds sanctioned and released so far;
and
(c) whether the Government proposes to revive or expedite the said project in view of Sirsa
being a major cotton-producing hub to promote employment and ensure fair returns to cotton
farmers?

(a): Ministry of MSME is implementing Micro and Small Enterprises Cluster Development
Programme (MSE-CDP) across the country. The objective of the scheme is to enhance the
productivity and competitiveness of Micro and Small Enterprises (MSEs) for their holistic
development adopting cluster development approach by extending financial assistance as GoI grant
to establish Common Facility Centers (CFCs) in the existing clusters and establish/up-grade
infrastructural facilities in new/existing industrial estates/areas/flatted factory complexes. It is
demand driven scheme and proposals are received from State Government/UTS as per their need.
There is no proposal receivedfor establishment of a Hosiery Cluster in Sirsa district from
Government of Haryana.
(b) & (c ): Does not arise.
