**Summary:**

MACP BENEFITS TO EMPLOYEES IN LAKSHADWEEP

Will the Minister of HOME AFFAIRS be pleased to state:
(a) whether there are delays in awarding promotions and Modified Assured
Career Progression (MACP) benefits to employees in Lakshadweep;
(b) if so, the reasons for these delays and the measures taken to address
pending cases and ensure timely reviews;
(c) whether the Government is considering implementing a rotation policy
for contract staff to allow periodic transfers to their native islands to
reduce personal and financial hardships; and
(d) if so, the details thereof, including any plans to review and adjust
contract staff salaries to reflect living costs and their service
contributions?

(a) and (b): The UT of Lakshadweep Administration has informed that
the promotions and Modified Assured Career Progression (MACP) are
awarded to the eligible employees in Lakshadweep, as admissible under
relevant rules. In order to ensure timely disposal of cases related to such
benefits, the administration has constituted an Integrated Screening
Committee/ Departmental Promotion Committee.
(c) and (d): No such policy / plan is under consideration.
