Will the Minister of MICRO, SMALL AND MEDIUM ENTERPRISES be pleased to state:
(a) the details regarding the number of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs)
registered in the country during the last five years, category-wise for the State of Andhra Pradesh;
(b) the number of enterprises that have been extended support under the Special Provision for
Informal Micro Enterprises (IME) under the Credit Guarantee Scheme since inception, year-wise
and State/UT-wise;
(c) the number of applications that have been accorded priority under the Prime Minister’s
Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP) during the last three years from beneficiaries with
project cost below Rupees Ten lakh and the number of enterprises assisted under this category, year-
wise;
(d) whether the Government is considering to formally recognise a separate “Nano Enterprise”
category within the MSME classification framework; and
(e) if so, whether such recognition would assure funding for first-generation entrepreneurs,
particularly in rural and semi-urban areas and if not, the reasons therefor?

(a): The category-wise details of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) including
Informal Micro Enterprises(IMEs) registered on Udyam Registration Portal, since inception

(b): To formalize and facilitate collateral-free credit to IMEs, under Credit Guarantee
Scheme(CGS) for Micro and Small Enterprises, a Special Provision for IME was introduced on
14.02.2024. As informed by Credit Guarantee Fund Trust for Micro and Small Enterprises
(CGTMSE), year-wise and States/UTs-wise details of guarantee extended to IMEs since the
inception of the special provision, are given in Annexure–I.: 2 :
(c): Under the Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP), the year-wise
details of PMEGP beneficiary assisted with project cost below Rupees Ten lakh during the last three
years in the State of Andhra Pradesh are as under:

(d) & (e): At present, the MSME classification framework provides for Micro, Small and
Medium Enterprises under the MSME Development Act, 2006. As notified vide Gazette S.O.
1296(E) dated 20.03.2023, the Informal Micro Enterprises registered on the Udyam Assist Platform
are treated at par with Udyam Registration for availing Priority Sector Lending benefits.Further,
first-generation entrepreneurs, including in rural and semi-urban areas, are supported through
schemes such as PMEGP, CGS and other MSME facilitation programmes.
