(a) the sanctioned strength of personnel approved for the newly launched
Bharatiya Bhasha Anubhag;
(b) whether Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) have been framed to
integrate technology in the promotion of Indian languages under this
section;
(c) the manner in which the Ministry ensures the linguistic accuracy and
sanctity of translated documents so that interpretational issues do not
arise; and
(d) the safeguards or quality checks instituted for this purpose?

STATEMENT IN REPLY TO LOK SABHA STARRED QUESTION NO *361 FOR
ANSWER ON 19.08.2025 REGARDING ‘PERSONNEL STRENGTH IN
BHARATIYA BHASHA ANUBHAG’
(a) The number of sanctioned posts (Temporary) in Bhartiya Bhasha
Anubhag is 48.
(b) to (d) Bhartiya Bhasha Anubhag has been set up under the
Department of Official Language, Ministry of Home Affairs to facilitate the
correspondence between Central Government and State Governments
also in the first Official Language of the respective State.
Under the aegis of Bhartiya Bhasha Anubhag, development of multilingual
software has been assigned to the Centre for Development of Advanced
Computing (C-DAC), Pune, under which requisite procedures have been
assigned to facilitate the seamless integration of various technologies,
i.e. domain specific resource development and deployment of AI based
tools.
Linguistic accuracy and sanctity is ensured first by Senior Translators and
final vetting is done by Assistant Directors posted in the Bhartiya Bhasha
Anubhag.
