Will the Minister of MICRO, SMALL AND MEDIUM ENTERPRISES be pleased to state:
(a) the aims and objectives of PM Vishwakarma Scheme launched in 2023;
(b) the extent to which the above scheme is helping in end-to-end support to artisans and
craftspeople of traditional trades;
(c) whether 21,64,000 applications have been received from the State of Andhra Pradesh under
the above scheme;
(d) if so, the details thereof, district-wise and the reasons that only 2.22 lakh applications have
only been registered so far;
(e) the reasons the other applications have not been registered and steps being taken by the
Government to register maximum applications; and
(f) the benefits available for registered applicants under the above scheme and details of benefits
actually extended to registered people since implementation of the scheme in Andhra Pradesh,
district-wise?

(a) & (b): PM Vishwakarma scheme was launched on 17.09.2023 to provide end-to-end holistic
support to artisans and craftspeople of 18 traditional trades who work with their hands and tools. The
Aim and Objective of the scheme are as follows:-
To enable the recognition of artisans and craftspeople as Vishwakarma, making them eligible
to avail all the benefits under the Scheme.
To provide skill upgradation to hone their skills and make relevant and suitable training
opportunities available to them.
To provide support for better and modern tools to enhance their capability, productivity, and
quality of products and services.
To provide the beneficiaries an easy access to collateral free credit and reduce the cost of
credit by providing interest subvention.
To provide incentives for digital transactions to encourage digital empowerment of
Vishwakarmas.
To provide a platform for brand promotion and market linkages to help them access new
opportunities for growth.
(c) to (f): As of 15.12.2025, 21.67 lakh applications have been received in the State of Andhra
Pradesh under PM Vishwakarma out of which 2.23 lakh beneficiaries have been successfully
registered after three stage of verification. Against the overall target of coverage of 30 lakh
beneficiaries, the process of verification and registration of 30 lakh artisans/craftspeople has been
successfully completed under the scheme. The District-wise details of applications and benefits
extended to the registered artisans since implementation of PM Vishwakarma scheme in Andhra
Pradesh is at Annexure-I.
