REMOVAL OF OLD FENCING ALONG THE INDIA-PAKISTAN BORDER

Will the Minister of HOME AFFAIRS be pleased to state:
(a) the plan of the Government for removing the old fencing along the India-
Pakistan border as new fencing has recently been installed;
(b) whether the Government has any policy for removing old wires, their
reuse and proper disposal;
(c) if so, the details thereof; and
(d) if not, the time by which the Government is likely to take a decision in
this regard?

(a): Replacement and upgradation of border fencing is a continuous
process.
(b) to (d): The old wires are not reused as they become totally
unserviceable once dismantled. However, the credit of old fencing is
included in the tender of replacement as per norms.
