REVIVAL OF LEGACY INDUSTRIAL CLUSTERS
6361. SHRI MADDILA GURUMOORTHY:
Will the Minister of MICRO, SMALL AND MEDIUM ENTERPRISES be pleased to state:
(a) the selection criteria and timeline set for revival of 200 legacy industrial clusters announced in
Budget 2026–27 and whether the list of clusters is proposed to be placed in the public domain and if
so, the details thereof;
(b) whether convergence has been planned with existing schemes (CFCs, skilling, credit
guarantee, export promotion) to prevent fragmented implementation and if so, the details thereof; and
(c) whether the Government has fixed cluster-level targets (employment, productivity, export
output), and whether third-party evaluation would be conducted with cluster-wise outcome disclosure
and if so, the details thereof?

(a) to (c): The revival of 200 legacy industrial clusters announced in Budget 2026-27 is aimed to
improve their cost competitiveness and efficiency through infrastructure and technology upgradation.
The rejuvenation and revival of 200 legacy industrial clusters is being driven by the Ministry of
Finance in coordination with other central ministries and the National Industrial Corridor
Development Corporation (NICDC), Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade
(DPIIT), Ministry of Commerce and Industry as per Union Budget 2026-27announcement.
