NOTIFICATION
New Delhi, the 8th March, 2024
S.O. 1185_(E).—Whereas, in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-sections (1) and (3) of section 3 of the
Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967 (37 of 1967), the Central Government declared the Jamaat-e-Islami,
Jammu and Kashmir (JeI), as an unlawful association vide notification number S.O. 924(E) dated the 27th February,
2024, published in the Gazette of India, Extraordinary, Part-II, Section-3, Sub-section (ii) dated the 27th February,
2024.
Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 42 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention)
Act, 1967 (37 of 1967) (herein after referred to as the said Act), the Central Government hereby directs that all powers
exercisable by it under section 7 and section 8 of the said Act shall also be exercised by the State Governments and the
Union territory administrations in relation to the above said unlawful association.
