IRRIGATION & CAD (PW.C.A.II) DEPARTMENT G.O.Rt.No. 120 Dated. 27.2.2012. Read the following:- 1. From Sri Ranjit Kumar, Senior Advocate, Bill No.238/2011, dated.25.11.2011. 2. From the Engineer-in-Chief, Indira Sagar Polavaram Project, Dowlaiswaram Lr.No.ENC/ISPP/DCE/OT.6/AEE.2/F-122, Dt:26 -11- 2011. >><< ORDER: The Engineer-in-Chief, Indira Sagar Polavaram Project, Dowlaiswaram in the letter 2nd read above, has reported that a W.P.(C) No.459/2011 has been filed in the month of October, 2011 by President of Telangana Jagruthi an N.G.O. before Hon’ble Supreme Court against the construction of Polavaram Project. Further an I.A. also has been filed in the above W.P. for interim direction to stop construction of the project and also to stop the tendering process for Head works. The case has come up for hearing suddenly before the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India on 25.11.2011 with a short notice. In view of importance of the Indira Sagar Polavaram Project and to defend the Government interest, a Caveat Petition has been filed in the Hon’ble Supreme Court, duly giving authorization to utilize the services of Sri Ranjit Kumar as Senior Advocate and Sri Y. Rajagopala Rao as Advocate-On-Record to appear on behalf of the Government of Andhra Pradesh before the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India. 2. The Engineer-in-Chief, Indira Sagar Polavaram Project, Dowlaiswaram has requested the Government to issue necessary orders for appointing Sri Ranjit Kumar as Senior Advocate and Sri Y. Raja Gopal Rao, as Advocate-On- Record to defend in the matter of W.P(C)No.459/2011 before the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India and also to sanction legal charges of Rs.2.20 Lakhs towards appearance and conference fee to Sri Ranjit Kumar, Senior Advocate for his appearance on 25-11-2011 before Supreme Court of India in WP No.(C) No.459/2011. 3. In view of the circumstances Government after careful examination hereby accord sanction for payment of legal charges of Rs.2.20 Lakhs (Rupees two lakhs and twenty thousands only) to Sri Ranjit Kumar, Senior Advocate towards legal charges for his appearance and conference on 25-11-2011 in WP No.(c) No.459/2011 in the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India. 4. The expenditure sanctioned at para ( 3 ) shall be debit able to the following Head of Account: “4701-Major and Medium Irrigation – 01 Major Irrigation – M.H. 800 Other Expenditure. G.H. (11) Normal State Plan – S.H. (11) Project Establishment under Chief Engineer, Polavaram Project – 280 Professional service – 281 Pleader fees”.//2// 5. The Engineer-in-Chief, Indira Sagar Polavaram Project, Dowlaiswaram shall take further necessary action accordingly. 6. This order issues with the concurrence of Fin Deptt. vide their U.O.No. 393/PFS/2012, Dt:25-01-2012.
