From the Engineer-in-Chief, Indira Sagar Polavaram Project, DowlaiswaramLr.No.ENC/ISPP/DCE/OT.4/AEE2/151/05(E)/Vol.7 Dt:19.11.2011. >><< ORDER: In the references read above, the Engineer-in-Chief, Indira Sagar Polavaram Project, Dowlaiswaram has submitted that the Ministry of Environment & Forests, GoI, New Delhi has accorded in-principle Forest approval and Final approval under section (2) of Forest Conservation Act, 1980 for diversion of 3731.07 Ha. of Reserve Forest Land for Indira Sagar Polavaram Project across river Godavari in the State of Andhra Pradesh with certain conditions. 2. As per the condition No.7 (ii) of Government of lndia, MoEF, New Delhi, Dt:26.12.2008, a detailed study by the Wild Life Institute of India, Dehradun to assess the effect of the project on the flora & fauna and the mitigative measures required to be taken including the fragmentation of the habitat, because of construction of canals has to be got done. As per the recommendations of Central Empowered Committee, the Wild Life Institute of India, Dehradun has been entrusted to conduct a detailed study of Indira Sagar Polavaram project flora and fauna. 3. The Engineer-in-Chief, Indira Sagar Polavaram Project, Dowlaiswaram has requested the Government to permit him to deposit Rs.17.00 lakhs with Wildlife Institute of India, Dehradun for taking up the above detailed study. 4. In view of the circumstances, Government after careful examination hereby permit the Engineer-in-Chief, Indira Sagar Polavaram Project, Dowlaiswaram to deposit an amount of Rs.17.00 Lakhs (Rupees seventeen lakhs only) with Wild Life Institute of India, Dehradun for taking up the detailed study for assessment of Ecological settings and Bio- diversity values of Papikonda National Park and ISPP areas impact zone in A.P. for development of mitigatory measures. 5. The expenditure sanctioned at para ( 4 ) above shall be debited to the following Head of Account:- “MH 4701, capital outlay, M&MI (01) Major Irrigation, commercial MH(120) – Polavaram Barrage GH(11) Normal state plan SH (26) – Dam and Appurtenant works – 530 Major works – 531 other – expenditure.”//2// 6. The Engineer-in-Chief, Indira Sagar Polavaram Project, Dowlaiswaram shall take necessary action accordingly. 7.
