NOTIFICATION
New Delhi, the 27th November, 2014
S.O. 3001(E).—Whereas, in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of Section 11 of the
National Investigation Agency Act, 2008 (34 of 2008) (hereinafter referred to as the said Act), the Central
Government had, vide notification number S.O. 2165(E), dated the 1st September, 2010, published in the
Gazette of India, Extraordinary, Part-II, Section 3, Sub-section (ii), dated the 1st September, 2010, notified the
Designated Courts under Terrorist and Disruptive Activities (Prevention) Act/Prevention of Terrorism Act
(TADA/POTA) at Jammu and Srinagar as the Special Court for the purpose of sub-section (1) of Section 11 of
the said Act having Jurisdiction throughout the State of Jammu and Kashmir for the trial of Scheduled
Offences;
And whereas, Shri Sanjeev Gupta, 3rd Additional Sessions Judge, (TADA) Jammu, who was
appointed as the Judge to preside over the said Special Court vide notification number S.O. 1939(E), dated
22nd August, 2012, published in the Gazette of India, Extraordinary, Part-II, Section 3, Sub-section (ii), dated
the 22nd August, 2012, has been transferred;
Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (3) of Section 11 of the said Act
and in supersession of the notification number S.O. 1939(E), dated 22nd August, 2012, except as respects
things done or omitted to be done before such supersession, the Central Government, on the recommendation
of the Hon’ble Chief Justice of the High Court of Jammu and Kashmir at Srinagar, hereby appoints Shri Yash
Pal Kotwal, Presiding Officer, Designated Court under Terrorist and Disruptive Activities (Prevention)
Act/Prevention of Terrorism Act (TADA/POTA), the 3rd Additional District and Sessions Judge, Jammu as
the Judge to preside over the said Special Court.
