Union Home Affairs and Cooperation Minister Shri Amit Shah spoke with Maharashtra Chief
Minister Shri Devendra Fadnavis over telephone today, to review the situation caused by heavy
rains in various parts of the state. Detailed discussions were held on the progress of relief and
rescue operations in the affected areas, as well as the measures being taken to ensure the
safety of citizens.
Union Minister Shri Amit Shah stated that the Central Government is closely monitoring the
rainfall situation in Maharashtra and is in continuous contact with the state government. He
expressed confidence that all concerned agencies are working in close coordination to provide
immediate relief to the affected people.
Home Minister Shri Shah assured the Chief Minister that, under the leadership of Prime Minister
Shri Narendra Modi, the Central Government stands shoulder-to-shoulder with the state during
every natural disaster. He said that, in view of the heavy rains and flooding, the Central
Government will immediately provide all necessary resources, technical assistance, and any
other support required. He further assured that the Centre will extend all possible assistance to
