New Delhi, the 30th May, 2018
S.O. 2180(E).—Whereas, in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 11 of the National
Investigation Act, 2008 (34 of 2008) (hereinafter referred to as the said Act), the Central Government had, vide
notification number S.O. 2147 (E) dated the 1st September, 2010, published in the Gazette of India, Extraordinary, Part-
II, Section 3, Sub-section (ii), notified the Court of District and Sessions Judge, Aizawl, as the Special Court for the
purposes of sub-section (1) of section 11 of the said Act having jurisdiction throughout the State of Mizoram for the trial
of Scheduled Offences;
And whereas, Smt. Lucy Lalrinthari, District and Sessions Judge, Aizawl, who was appointed as the Judge to
preside over the said Special Court vide notification number S.O. 2839 (E) dated the 15th October, 2015, published in the
Gazette of India, Extraordinary, Part-II, Section 3, Sub-section (ii), has been transferred;
Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (3) of section 11 of the National
Investigation Act, 2008 (34 of 2008) and in supersession of the notification number S.O. 2839 (E), dated the
15th October, 2015, except in respect of things done or omitted to be done before such supersession, the Central
Government, on the recommendation of the Hon’ble Chief Justice, The Gauhati High Court at Guwahati, hereby appoints
Shri Joel Joseph Denga, District and Sessions Judge, Aizawl, as the Judge to preside over the said Special Court.
