NOTIFICATION
New Delhi, the 31st December, 2018
S.O. 6398(E).—Whereas, in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 11 of the National
Investigation Act, 2008 (34 of 2008) (hereinafter referred to as the said Act), the Central Government had, vide
notification number S.O. 1454(E) dated the 25th June, 2011, published in the Gazette of India, Extraordinary, Part-II,
Section 3, Sub-section (ii), notified the Court of City Civil and Sessions Court, Bombay, as the Special Court for the
purposes of sub-section (1) of section 11 of the said Act having jurisdiction throughout the State of Maharashtra for the
trial of Scheduled Offences;
And whereas, Shri S.S. Adkar, City Civil and Additional Sessions Judge, Greater Bombay, who was appointed
as the Judge to preside over the said Special Court vide notification number S.O. 1785(E) dated the 5th June, 2017,
published in the Gazette of India, Extraordinary, Part-II, Section 3, Sub-section (ii), has been transferred;
Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (3) of section 11 of the National
Investigation Act, 2008 (34 of 2008) and in supersession of the notification number S.O. 1785(E), dated the 5th June,
2017, except in respect of things done or omitted to be done before such supersession, the Central Government, on the
recommendation of the Hon’ble Chief Justice, High Court of Bombay, hereby appoints Shri A.T. Wankhede, City Civil
and Additional Sessions Judge, Mumbai, as the Judge to preside over the said Special Court.
