NOTIFICATION
New Delhi, the 6th April, 2017
S.O.1079(E).—Whereas in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 11 of the National
Investigation Agency Act, 2008 (34 of 2008) (hereinafter referred to as the said Act), the Central Government had, vide
notification number S.O. 2151 (E) dated the 1st September, 2010, published in the Gazette of India, Extraordinary, Part
II, Section 3, Sub-section (ii), dated the 1st September, 2010, notified the Court of Special Judge (NDPS Act), Bhopal as
the Special Court for the purposes of sub-section (1) of section 11 of the said Act having jurisdiction throughout the State
of Madhya Pradesh for the trial of Scheduled Offences;
And whereas, Shri Shashi Bhushan Pathak, Xth Additional Sessions Judge, Bhopal, who was appointed as the
Judge to preside over the said Special Court vide notification number S.O. 4220 (E) dated the 29th December, 2016,
published in the Gazette of India, Extraordinary, Part II, Section 3, Sub-section (ii), dated the 29th December, 2016, has
superannuated on 31st December, 2016;
Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by Sub-section (3) of Section 11 of the said Act and in
supersession of the notification number S.O. 4220 (E) dated the 29th December, 2016, except as respects things done or
omitted to be done before such supersession, the Central Government, on the recommendation of the Hon’ble Chief
Justice of the High Court of Madhya Pradesh at Jabalpur, hereby appoints Shri Girish Dixit, Special Judge, NDPS Act &
XVIth ASJ Bhopal, as the Judge to preside over the said Special Court.
