Ministry of Minority Affairs Hon'ble Union Minister of Minority Affairs chaired the National Level Conclave of Hon'ble Ministers of States/UTs for Minority Welfare Shri Kiren Rijiju urges to promote Swadeshi & ‘Made in India’ during Lok Samvardhan Parv to strengthen the vision of Viksit Bharat@2047 Posted On: 13 SEP 2025 6:40PM by PIB Delhi The Ministry of Minority Affairs organised the National Level Conclave of Hon'ble Ministers of States/UTs for Minority Welfare at Vanijya Bhawan, New Delhi on 13th September, 2025. The conclave was presided over by Hon’ble Union Minister for Minority Affairs Shri Kiren Rijiju in the august presence of Hon’ble MoS for Minority Affairs Shri George Kurian and Secretary, MoMA Dr Chandra Shekhar Kumar. The conclave was attended by the Ministers of 8 States, including Shri Md. Zama Khan from Bihar, Shri Adv. Manilkrao Kokate from Maharashtra, Shri Imkongmar from Nagaland, Shri Nityananda Gond from Odisha, Shri S.M. Nasar from Tamil Nadu, Shri Sukla Charan Noatia from Tripura, Shri Om Prakash Rajbhar from Uttar Pradesh, and Shri Kento Jini from Arunachal Pradesh. The Ministers and Secretaries from the States/UTs shared their insights and suggestions to strengthen the implementation of schemes for the welfare of minority communities across India.The conclave focused on IGoM reforms across legislative, policy, institutional, and process frameworks for various schemes of the Ministry, aiming to improve the ease of living, catalyse economic growth, create jobs, enhance global competitiveness and build a reform-oriented institutional ecosystem for minority communities. During the meeting, Hon’ble Union Minister for Minority Affairs Shri Kiren Rijiju stated that “With a new vision, we are bringing changes in policies and taking forward earlier initiatives with greater speed, especially for the benefit of minority youth, women, and all communities.” Hon’ble Minister of State for Minority Affairs, Shri George Kurian urged all the stakeholders to follow the mantra of “Reform, Perform, Transform and Inform” to ensure efficient delivery of services and sustainable development. He said that the ongoing schemes like the Pradhan Mantri Virasat Ka Samvardhan (PM VIKAS) and Pradhan Mantri Jan Vikas Karyakram (PMJVK) are enhancing skill development and infrastructure development for the minority communities. Hon’ble Minister for Department of Sericulture & Minority Affairs, Govt. of Nagaland, Shri Imkongmar mentioned the challenges faced regarding welfare scheme implementation and suggested effective strategies to enhance execution in the State. The minister also shared the details of projects undertaken in Nagaland for minority communities. Hon'ble Minister for Minorities & Backwards Classes Welfare, Govt of Odisha, Shri Nityananda Gond stated the significant increase in the benefits of welfare schemes for minority communities for the state of Odisha. Hon’ble Minister for Minorities & Non-Resident Tamils Welfare, Govt of Tamil Nadu, Shri S.M. Nasar, requested several measures to enhance the welfare of minority communities in the State and emphasised that these steps would significantly strengthen educational and social support for minority communities in Tamil Nadu. Hon’ble Minister of Cooperation, Tribal Welfare (TRP & PTG), and Welfare of Minorities, Government of Tripura, Shri Sukla Charan Noatia, highlighted that over the last five years, the State Government has been extending financial assistance to minority youths pursuing professional courses. He emphasised that this initiative aimed at promoting self-reliance and creating enhanced opportunities for employment and entrepreneurship. Hon’ble Minister for Minority Development and Auqaf, Government of Maharashtra, Shri Adv. Manilkrao Kokate ensured that the State would implement the welfare schemes for the development and upliftment of minority communities in the state of Maharashtra and suggested various measures for implementing the schemes. Hon'ble Minister of State for Minority Welfare Department, Govt of Bihar, Shri Md. Zama Khan mentioned the number of projects sanctioned under each scheme of the Ministry and suggested various measures for the effective implementation of the schemes. Hon'ble Minister for Minority Welfare, Muslim Waqf and Haj MLA, Govt of Uttar Pradesh, Shri Om Prakash Rajbhar, highlighted the positive impact and growth achieved in the State through various welfareschemes implemented by the Ministry of Minority Affairs. He emphasised the role of these initiatives in promoting inclusive development and empowering minority communities across Uttar Pradesh. The Ministry presented its five-year roadmap for various schemes for the upliftment of minorities. While addressing the meeting, Shri Kiren Rijiju emphasised that the suggestions from the representatives were essential to help in preparing a reform roadmap for the growth and benefits of minority communities. Hon’ble Union Minister of Minority Affairs, Shri Kiren Rijiju, urged all participating artisans at the Lok Samvardhan Parv to actively support the spirit of ‘Vocal for Local’ and support 'Made in India’ to strengthen the vision of Viksit Bharat.
