From the D.G.P., A.P., Hyderabad, Lr.Rc.No.1212/ R&T /Rect.2 /2011, dated.26.12.2011. **** ORDER: In the circumstances reported by the Director General of Police, Andhra Pradesh, Hyderabad in the reference 4th read above, the Government after careful examination have decided to issue Amendments to the Andhra Pradesh Police (Stipendiary Cadet trainee) Rules issued in G.O.Ms.No.315, Home(Pol.C)Dept, dated 13.10.1999. 2. The following Notification will be published in the Andhra Pradesh Gazettee, dated: 25-02-2012. NOTIFICATION In exercise of the powers conferred by the proviso to Article 309 of the Constitution of India and of all other powers hereunto enabling, the Governor of Andhra Pradesh hereby makes the following amendments to the Andhra Pradesh Police (Stipendiary Cadet Trainee) Rules, 1999 issued in G.O.Ms.No.315, Home (Pol.C) Dept., dated 13-10-99 and published in Supplement to Part-I of the Andhra Pradesh Gazette No: 41-A, dated 18th November, 1999 and as subsequently amended from time to time. AMENDMENTS In the said rules, 1. In Annexure –I (I) in SI. No. I, under column (6), for the entries (e), the following shall be substituted, namely:- “(e) Written Examination : Candidates shall be required to appear for the written examination in four papers( each of three hours duration ) as given below . The syllabus is given in Annexure II. Paper Subject Max Marks Paper I English (Descriptive in nature) 100 Paper II Telugu/Urdu (Descriptive in nature) 100 Paper III Arithmetic and Test of Reasoning/Mental 200 Ability(Objective in nature) Paper IV General Studies (Objective in nature) 200 P.T.O:: 2 :: NOTE: 1. The minimum marks to be secured by the candidates in order to qualify in the written examination in each of the four papers is 40% for OCs 35% for BCs and 30% for SCs/STs/Ex.Servicemen. 2. Paper I and II are only qualifying in nature. The cases of the candidates who do not secure the minimum qualifying marks in these papers will not be considered further in the selection process irrespective of their performance in papers III &IV . The marks secured in these papers i.e., paper I and II will not be taken into account for final selection. 3. Questions in Papers III and IV will be objective in nature and will be set in English, Telugu and Urdu Languages. The candidates can choose to have the question papers in one of the three languages and should indicate his choice as and when asked for by the recruiting authority. Option once exercised will be final and a candidate will not be allowed to change it subsequently”. (II) in Sl. The candidates can choose to have the question papers in one of the three languages and should indicate his choice as and when asked for by the recruiting authority. Option once exercised will be final and a candidate will not be allowed to change it subsequently”. 2) In Annexure – II, for the entries in Paper II, the following shall be substituted, namely:- “PAPER – II: The candidates can choose to have one of the languages i.e., either Telugu or Urdu and should indicate his choice as and when asked for by the recruiting authority. Option once exercised will be final and a candidate will not be allowed to change it subsequently. TELUGU (DESCRIPTIVE TYPE) The candidate’s understanding of the Telugu language, its correct usage and his writing ability would be tested. Questions on short essay, comprehension, précis, letter writing, paragraph writing / report writing, translation from Telugu to English etc. would be included. Contd…5:: 5 :: URDU (DESCRIPTIVE TYPE) The candidate’s understanding of the Urdu language, its correct usage and his writing ability would be tested. Questions on short essay, comprehension, précis, letter writing, paragraph writing / report writing, translation from Urdu to English etc. would be included”. 3.
