ORDER:
In the G.O., 1st read above, a State Level Committee for dealing with
the detection/seizure of counterfeit/forged notes has been constituted to
meet every quarter under the chairmanship of the Additional Director
General of Police (Law & Order), Andhra Pradesh, Hyderabad. In the G.O.,
2nd read above, Additional Director General of Police (Crime Investigation
Department) has been nominated as Chairman of the committee in place of
the Additional Director General of Police (Law & Order).
2) The Director General of Police, Andhra Pradesh, Hyderabad, in the
letter 3rd read above, has stated that in the 3rd meeting of the Committee
held on 28th June, 2010, at the Reserve Bank of India, Hyderabad, it was
decided to identify a Nodal Police Station in each district, where FIRs relating
to counterfeit currency may be filed, so that the banks and individual
complainants do not face the problem of delay and inconvenience in getting
the FIR lodged. The Director General of Police, Andhra Pradesh, Hyderabad
also informed that the Principal Secretary to Government, Home Department,
Govt. of Andhra Pradesh has been requested during the 20th Meeting of the
State Level Security Committee held at Reserve Bank of India, Hyderabad on
21-12-2010 to issue necessary orders, declaring the “Central Crime Station”
in each unit as the Nodal Police Station for handling Fake Indian/Foreign
Currency Notes cases.
3) The Government, after careful consideration, hereby approve the
proposal of the Director General of Police, Andhra Pradesh, Hyderabad for
declaration of the “Central Crime Station” of each unit (District) as Nodal
Police Station.
4) The Director General of Police, Andhra Pradesh, Hyderabad, is
requested to take necessary further action accordingly.
5) Accordingly, the following notification will be published in the
Extraordinary issue of the Andhra Pradesh Gazette dated: 09-04-2012.
6) The notification hereby made shall come into force with immediate
effect.

NOTIFICATION
In exercise of the powers conferred by clause (s) of section 2 of the
Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973 (Central Act 2 of 1974) read with Order
No.611-8 of the Andhra Pradesh Police Manual, the Government of Andhra
Pradesh hereby declare that the “Central Crime Station” of each unit
(District) as Nodal Police Station to receive the complaints relating to the
offences of counterfeit/fake currency, to register F.I.Rs and to investigate the
cases relating to Counterfeit/Fake Indian/Foreign Currency/Forged Notes
basing on the complaints lodged by the banks and individual complainants
under the jurisdictional limits.
