Parliament Question: Begum Hazrat Mahal National Scholarship Scheme (BHMNS) for girls

GOVERNMENT OF INDIA MINISTRY OF MINORITY AFFAIRS RAJYA SABHA UNSTARRED QUESTION NO. 4109 ANSWERED ON 30/03/2026 BEGUM HAZRAT MAHAL NATIONAL SCHOLARSHIP SCHEME (BHMNS) FOR GIRLS 4109. SHRI RAJIB BHATTACHARJEE: SMT. SEEMA DWIVEDI: Will the Minister of MINORITY AFFAIRS be pleased to state: (a) the State/Union Territory-wise number of scholarships granted to minority female students under the Begum Hazrat Mahal National Scholarship scheme during the last three years; (b) the funds allocated and disbursed under the scheme during the said period; (c) the year-wise number of applications received and approved under the scheme; (d) whether Government has revised the number of scholarships or financial assistance provided under the scheme; and (e) if so, the details thereof? ANSWER THE MINISTER OF MINORITY AFFAIRS (SHRI KIREN RIJIJU) (a) to (e): Begum Hazrat Mahal National Scholarship Schemes for girls, which was implemented by Maulana Azad Education Foundation (MAEF), has been subsumed with Pre-Matric and Post-Matric Scholarship Schemes for minorities from 2022-23. *****
