RAJYA SABHA
UNSTARRED QUESTION NO. 295
ANSWERED ON 02.02.2026
GRANTS FOR START-UPS AND MICRO-ENTERPRISES IN ODISHA
295. SHRI NIRANJAN BISHI:
Will the Minister of MINORITY AFFAIRS be pleased to state:
(a) whether Government proposes special grants for Start-Ups and Micro-Enterprises run
by minority women in the State of Odisha; and
(b) if so, the details thereof and if not, the reasons therefor?
ANSWER
THE MINISTER OF MINORITY AFFAIRS
(SHRI KIREN RIJIJU)
(a) & (b): There is no such proposal under consideration in the Ministry of Minority
Affairs. However, the National Minorities Development and Finance Corporation
(NMDFC), a Central Public Sector Enterprise (CPSE) under the administrative control of
the Ministry of Minority Affairs, provides concessional credit to eligible beneficiaries for
self-employment and income-generating activities, with the objective of promoting the
socio-economic development of backward sections among the notified minority
communities.
The schemes of NMDFC are implemented through State Channelizing Agencies (SCAs)
nominated by the respective State Governments/Union Territory Administrations.
