Will the Minister of MINORITY AFFAIRS be pleased to state:
(a) the objectives and components of the Hamari Dharohar scheme and its current status
following its integration into PM-VIKAS;
(b) the details of grants sanctioned under the scheme since its inception including the
number of cultural preservation projects supported, types of activities funded and
beneficiary profiles, State wise;
(c) the details of procedure for applying under the said scheme and the eligibility criteria
for NGOs, cultural groups and individuals;
(d) whether any proposals from Dakshina Kannada district have been received or
sanctioned under Hamari Dharohar or PM-VIKAS for the preservation of minority
heritage, including oral traditions, literature or community museums; and
(e) if so, the details thereof and if not, whether the Government proposes to conduct
outreach or awareness drives in districts like Dakshina Kannada to encourage applications
under the scheme?

(a) and (b): Hamari Dharohar scheme had been formulated to preserve the rich heritage of
minority communities of India. The objectives of the scheme were to curate rich heritage
of minorities through exhibitions, preservation of literature/ documents, support and
promotion of calligraphy etc., and Research & Development. Hamari Dharohar Scheme
was a Central Sector Scheme, implemented through Project Implementing Agencies (PIAs)
throughout the country covering all six centrally notified minority communities namely,
Muslims, Christians, Buddhists, Sikhs, Parsis and Jains.
The scheme has now been subsumed under a new integrated scheme called
Pradhan Mantri Virasat Ka Samvardhan (PM VIKAS), which focuses on socio-economic
empowerment of minorities through skill development which includes
preservation/propagation of traditional arts and crafts including Intangible Cultural
Heritage (ICH); entrepreneurship and leadership of minority women; and education
support for school dropouts.
Under the Hamari Dharohar scheme, activities related to exhibitions of minority
culture, organising cultural programmes, translation of ancient books/ scriptures etc were
undertaken. The funds allocated, released/utilized under the Hamari Dharohar scheme are

Therefore, beneficiary profiles or State wise data was not maintained in the “Hamari
Dharohar” scheme.
(c): The eligibility criteria of PM VIKAS scheme is as per PM VIKAS scheme

(d) and (e): Till date, the Ministry has not received any proposal from the Dakshina
Kannada district under the PM VIKAS scheme or Hamari Dharohar scheme, for

of Karnataka seeking proposals under the PM VIKAS scheme.
